What is it ?
The Red Spider Velocity String Packer has been specifically developed to provide the operator with the means of retrofitting the smaller diameter tubing string into and existing completion. The Velocity String Packer provides a means of hanging the string at a predetermined point within the existing production tubing.
The device and the associated running tool are designed to accommodate large hanging weights hence allowing a long length of velocity string to be deployed. The device is also fully retrievable allowing the operator the flexibility to remove the string at a later date should that be deemed necessary.
When would I use it ?
The Velocity String Packer is intended for use in the following applications:
- As an anchor and sealing point for the deployment of velocity strings
- As an independent, intervention deployed packer for carrying accessories such as Water Injection Valves
- As the upper packer in long length straddle assemblies
- As a carrying device for retrofitting a means of sand control such as lengths of screens
