What is it ?
The Red Spider Velocity String Packer has been specifically developed to provide the operator with the means of deploying and anchoring a smaller diameter velocity string into an existing completion.
The VSP and the associated running tool are designed to accommodate large hanging weights allowing a long length of velocity string to be deployed. It is also fully retrievable allowing the operator the flexibility to remove the string at a later date should that be deemed necessary.
When would I use it ?
The Velocity String Packer is intended for use in the following applications:
- As an anchor and sealing point for the deployment of velocity strings
- As an independent, intervention deployed packer for carrying accessories such as Water Injection Valves
- As the upper packer in long length straddle assemblies
- As a carrying device for retrofitting a means of sand control such as lengths of screens
