RS Equalising Assembly
Our Technology...
What is it ?
The Red Spider RS Equalising Assembly is a device run in conjunction with other plugging/flow control devices and is used to allow equalisation of the well prior to retrieval from the well bore.
The device is run OPEN, with the equalising sleeve held in place by means of a Running Prong attached to the lower end of the respective Running Tool. The device will close when the Running Tool is sheared from the Anchoring Device.
To re-open the RS Equalising Assembly an equalising prong must be used to reach into the body and make contact with the equalising sleeve. Downward movement will then allow the equalising sleeve to expose the equalising ports, and thus allow the well to be pressure equalised.
When would I use it ?
- The RS Equalising Assembly would be used in applications where:
- Bypass is required when entering a restricted bore tubing during deployment of an assembly
- Bypass is required to stop “bounce” when attempting to set a lock assembly into a nipple profile
