Retrofit Straddle System

What is it ?

The Red Spider Retrofit Straddle System is intended to isolate a tubing to annulus leak in a particular well geometry.

The well configuration was such that the leak had developed between two seal bores which were already integral to the completion. A straddle system was developed which utilized these seal bores hence isolating the point of leakage.

This resulted in a simplistic, reliable and cost effective solution which could be run on slickline without the need for specialist crew and equipment.

When would I use it ?

As with all retrofit solutions, the device is designed to fit a particular one off application. However, that is not to say that the design concept could not be used in a similar application.
