Retrofit Seal Assembly

What is it ?

The Red Spider Retrofit Seal Assembly was specifically developed to repair a damaged ported nipple used as part of an artificial lift system.

Artificial lift was provided by means of a jet pump assembly which relied on fluid being pumped down the annulus and through a ported nipple in which the jet pump was set. However over time, the lower seal bore within the ported nipple was found to be washed out and as a result the operator was unable to set the Kobe pump and achieve pressure integrity.

As a consequence a solution was required to re-establish pressure integrity of the system.

When would I use it ?

As with all retrofit solutions, the device is designed to fit a particular one off application. However, that is not to say that the design concept could not be used in a similar application.
