Modular Straddle System

What is it ?

The Red Spider Modular Straddle System has been specifically developed to provide the operator with a means of isolating long intervals with straddle technology but the deployment of which is restricted due to a limited rig up height. The system allows the straddle to be deployed in sections and “built up”. It starts with a packer assembly being placed at the lower most point of the interval which requires to be straddled and then sections are deployed to build up the overall length of the straddle. The system is then finished with a second packer assembly at the upper most point of the interval to be isolated. The packers provide both the means of isolation and anchoring of the system within the existing production tubing/ liner.

The system can be deployed and set on slickline, e-line, coiled tubing or work string and in theory can be built to any length.

When would I use it ?

The Modular Straddle System is used in applications such as:

• The isolation of individual reservoir sections or zones within liner sections which may have watered out
• The isolation of tubing leaks over long sections
• A means of deploying sand screens across producing intervals
