Maximum Flow Lock
Our Technology...
What is it ?
The Red Spider Maximum Flow (MF) Lock Assembly has been specifically developed to provide the user with the maximum flow through the internal diameter of the tool as possible.
This is particularly useful in applications where conventional lock mandrels provide a restriction to the production or injection flow and there is a clear benefit to maximize the available flow through area.
The MF Lock Assembly can be designed to fit any third party nipple profile. Typically deployed on slickline, the assembly is run to the required depth until it makes contact with the no-go. Downward jarring initiates the setting sequence which in turn engages the keys into their respective profile.
To retrieve the lock the fishing neck is engaged and upward jarring releases the keys from their respective profile in the nipple and allows the assembly to be retrieved.
When would I use it ?
The MF Lock would be used in situations where:
- The maximum ID through the device is required for access below
- The maximum possible flow through area is required e.g. when used to suspend a water injection valve or fluid support device
- A lock assembly is required which is unaffected by fluid flow i.e. cannot be unset
