Liner Drop-off System (LDS)

What is it ?

The Red Spider Liner Drop-off System is designed to provide a dedicated disconnect point during liner deployment operations. Also referred to as Pop and Drop. Typically run above the liner the device can be activated by dropping a ball into the running string and pumping it on seat. Once activated, the device disconnects mechanically from the lower string allowing the upper string to be retrieved from the well. The tool is designed in such a manner to handle rotational torque without any adverse effects to the tools operation.

When would I use it ?

The Liner Drop-off System can be used in the following applications:

• As a primary means of disconnect when deploying liner sections which do not require a liner hanger eg a liner with swellable elastomers
• As a secondary or emergency means of disconnect in the running string
