Hydrostatic Support Valve

What is it ?

The Red Spider Hydrostatic Support Valve (HSV) (patent pending) has been developed primarily for use in Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) completions as a means to prevent unwanted loss of well bore fluids to the reservoir.

The tool is typically deployed on a carrier device and is designed to allow free and easy flow of produced fluids while the down-hole pump is in operation. A pump through facility is provided within the tool should reservoir stimulation or well kill be required in the future.

When would I use it ?

The Hydrostatic Support Valve (HSV) can be successfully deployed in a number of differing applications:

• Ideally suited for wells where artificial lift is provided by an ESP and a means of supporting the column of fluid in the tubing is required to ease the restart of the pump
• Where support of the column of fluid is required but also the ability to pump through the device if necessary
