Our policy is to exceed the requirements of the law and to prevent injury and ill health of our people wherever possible. We provide sufficient resources to meet this commitment and ensure that systems are in place which allow us to maintain, monitor and where necessary, improve safety performance. These systems allow communication and consultation on health and safety matters between all areas of the business. We also provide and maintain safe plant, equipment and ensure safe handling and use of substances.

In return, we expect our people in all areas of the business to exceed their minimum legal duties. This includes co-operating on safety matters and taking care of their own safety and that of others, whether employed by the company or from an outside contractor.

Any information, instruction, training or supervision necessary to meet these commitments will be provided to those who require it in order to perform their job safely. The Health and Safety policy and the way it is operated will be reviewed at least annually and more often if the business changes in nature or size. Any revision required to improve safety management and performance through continual improvement will be made and then reported to our people.

We are committed to continually improving our environmental performance, to the prevention of pollution and to full compliance with relevant environmental legislation and other requirements.

We will strive to minimise the impact of our operations on the environment wherever practicable by:

• Ensuring that our environmental practices and processes are compliant with the requirements of current and future legislation
• Achieving our environmental objectives and targets which we will integrate within our day-to-day operational management and business improvement programmes
• Ensuring that our policy and our environmental initiatives are understood, implemented and maintained at all levels within our organisation and that they are supported by training
• Actively seeking the participation of all people at Red Spider in supporting our commitment to help safeguard our environment

To implement this policy we focus on the needs of our business with particular reference to consistently meeting customer requirements and statutory obligations. Our quality management system provides mechanisms for identifying and implementing process improvements.

Red Spider puts procedures and practices in place to ensure that:

• The system is effectively implemented by undertaking relevant skills training and conducting appropriate quality awareness training
• Responsibilities for quality are established by communicating these responsibilities clearly to all of our people
• The policy and procedures continue to be appropriate by initiating regular reviews to check its effectiveness and ongoing relevance, and
• The company regularly reviews the needs and expectations of our customers and initiates continuous improvement activities to meet these expectations.
